Watts calculation

There is no way to get actual "power consumption" for a PC unless you use a watt meter which you can buy from ebay. All CPU or GUP are guide by TDP in watt count. The thermal design power (TDP), sometimes called thermal design point, refers to the maximum amount of heat generated by the CPU.
So the higher the TDP which also mean it will likely to catch a"fire" :). One thing for sure a TDP 100watt CPU will not consume more than a 140watt TDP rated CPU. A motherboard that only support 100watt CPU will not accept a 140watt CPU due to higher watt consume. A CPU/GPU may draw 1.5 time more watt during high peak or overclocking

Here is a break down of my custom PC it's a mid range PC able to watch 4k video (Useless on a small screen mostly view on 1080p). Handle high setting on most games with above 30fps. (Calculation are base on TDP not actual watt but more less are around the same range as no overclocking in this system.)

24 inches LED HDMI Monitor 20watt
Average 6 hours of usage = 0.024 cents
Per month= 0.73 cents

PC breakdown
4core 3.8ghz 100 watt
Average 6 hours of usage = 0.12 cents
Per month= $3.60

Ram, motherboard, 3 x 12v fans 30watt
Average 6 hours of usage = 0.03 cents
Per month= $1.10

Dual-x R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 video card 360watt (The hungry hippo)
Average 6 hours of usage = 0.43 cents
Per month= $13.30

(Although the video card not always drawing 360watt when not gaming doing web browsing is still drawing 155watt on standby)
Monthly $18.73 (That's alot)
Yearly: $224.76

If I run Raspberry Pi with Kodi just watching TV show/movies.
(No gaming or web browsing on Youtube)
Rasberry PI 15watt + Monitor 20watt
Average 6 hours of usage = 0.04 cents
Per month= $1.30
Yearly= $15.60
